What should you pack for a Southern Africa Safari?

Day 1: Arrive Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe
You will be met on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to your choice of hotel for a two-night stay (bed and breakfast).

Overnight: At your selected Lodge

Day 2: Victoria Falls and a Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River
Go on a guided Victoria Falls tour this morning. And take your raincoat because the spray off the falls is intense! Discover how the Falls were formed and walk alongside the cascades, visiting over a dozen different viewpoints.

Enjoy a sunset cruise on the majestic Zambezi River this afternoon. Witness a magical African sunset as hippos emerge to graze on the banks. Drink and dine and escape into the serenity of nature.

Day 3: Chobe National Park Botswana
Breakfast is followed by one-hour drive to Botswana and the Chobe River. Arrive at your lodge for a two-night full board stay, then head out to discover the wonders of a Botswana safari.

The spectacle of animals drinking from the river’s edge is amazing, particularly in the dry season from May to October, where water is scarce away from the river. It is an area famous for its abundance of elephants, large herds of buffalo, plus great numbers of hippo and giraffe.

Day 4 – Chobe National Park Botswana – Game Drive and Cruise
A morning game drive provides magnificent sightings of elephants, as well as hippo, buffalo, antelope, lion and other animals that gather along the Chobe River banks. Expect to get very close to the animals on a Chobe safari, especially when you’re deep in the woodland.

A thrilling morning is followed by a relaxed afternoon cruising the Chobe River. With a cruise you view wildlife on the water’s edge, sipping on afternoon drinks as animals also drink. Elephants will often be cooling off in the river, while small islets provide haven for many different species.

Day 5: Depart – Kasane Airport
After a morning cruise or game drive (time permitting), and breakfast, you will transfer by road to Kasane International Airport. Onward travel can be arranged.

Tip: This is a customisable itinerary and can be adjusted to your interests and time frames, including visiting more destinations on your Botswana safari.

Chobe Game Lodge Botswana – Superior
The lodge offers spectacular views over the Chobe River and its floodplains. Herds of elephant and buffalo are regularly spotted on the riverbank so the Chobe safari never stops. This is a very comfortable and relatively large lodge, with modern amenities and an ideal location.
